Discover authentic Italian-style PHILLY ROAST PORK!
In Cortona street vendors line the bustling piazza selling cuisine made from the ingredients available in the region. This rustic tuscan-like setting and many mouth-watering meals I enjoyed inspired me to create a recipe which would be the signature menu item for my Italian delicatessens & catering business located in the suburbs of Philadelphia - Mastrocola’s Famous Philly Roast Pork.
With lines out the door and a significant catering demand for special events we wanted to make our roast pork available to everyone in the region. Today our roast pork is made by B&M Philly Steaks using premium lean pork and complemented with a secret blend of rustic herbs and spices slow cooked for hours in its own au jus.
Traditional complements include sharp provolone cheese, sweet roasted peppers, long hot peppers, and broccoli rabe. So firmly tender, so cleanly juicy and so full of Italian personality, my roast pork has grown into its own tradition.
